Established in 1995, Nova Flowtec Services has over 25 years' experience and are the industry leaders in fire hydrant flow testing.
We are a NZ-owned company providing independent inspection and testing services. We provide no services relating to repairs or maintenance, so you can be confident we are completely impartial.
Equipment
Nova Flowtec Services has two fire appliances available to meet all your pumping requirements for riser main flow testing. We use identical hoses and couplings to those used by Fire and Emergency New Zealand.
We use Giddens flowmeters for firefighting water supply testing. We carry enough equipment to conduct fire water classification testing up to FW7.
All our gauges are calibrated and IANZ certified for accuracy - certificates are available on request.
Services
We are approved contractors authorised to carry out firefighting water supply testing in multiple areas of the upper North Island including Watercare, Veolia, Waikato District, Hamilton City Water and Waipa District Council’s for the testing of fire hydrants on water mains.
Testing is conducted in accordance with PAS 4509:2008 New Zealand Fire Service Fire Fighting Water Supplies Code of Practice.
We carry out commissioning and annual testing and inspection services on hydrant systems in buildings (Riser Mains for Fire Service Use, Specified System 6) located between Kaitaia and Taupo. We are IQP registered for Building Warrant of Fitness purposes. Testing and inspections are in accordance with NZS 4510.
